The Challenge
Foram Group was about to embark on a new construction project - the construction of Brickell Financial Center - a landmark "green" building in the heart of Miami's Brickell financial district. The new project required the setup of information technology systems for a new construction office, a construction project management system and a Microsoft Dynamics SL based financial system. Complications and delays in the deployment of these projects were beginning to threaten construction deadlines and interfere with the development team's ability to communicate. Foram Group was looking for an IT solution provider offering a more effective, collaborative and responsive experience.
After meeting with several IT service providers, Foram Group choose to work with Design Red because of their extensive experience, outstanding customer service, and excellent references. Design Red met with key staff members at Foram Group to gain a thorough understanding of their business objectives and current challenges. Design Red's team worked diligently to address their concerns and phased out the project by deploying the following tasks:
- Efficiently rolled out server infrastructure to support the new project management and Microsoft Dynamics systems
- Identified and corrected a network stability problem that had been affecting IP-based telephone system at the construction office
- Implemented BlackBerry Enterprise Server to provide reliable, secure mobile messaging communications for Foram's highly mobile construction team
- Backup System - corrected underlying issue preventing reliable backups, setup notifications and established off-site rotation strategy
- Continuously provide responsive help desk services to Foram Group staff
- Setup "Outlook over the Internet" and remote-user VPN to improve remote user experience
- Deployed advanced security appliances (firewall) to improve security and office connectivity (VPN)
- Enabled and trained staff on Remote Access system
Foram Group has recognized a dramatic improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of its information technology systems. The integrated project management and financial systems provide seamless collaboration between the development and finance departments with no unexpected downtime since deployment. Construction staff can now communicate freely using their desk phones, blackberry devices or integrated laptops without having to worry about stability issues. The construction of Brickell Financial Center is well underway. Select staff members are now able to work securely and effectively from outside the office.
